Acer saccharum ‘Columnare’

Columnar sugar maple (Acer saccharum – columnar form) is a variety of sugar maple distinguished by its narrow, upright habit, making it an excellent choice for restricted spaces or for creating rows. Its foliage is dense and an attractive dark green in summer, transforming into a magnificent range of fall colors from bright yellow to orange and scarlet red. It retains the general characteristics of the classic sugar maple, including its hardiness and longevity, but with a much more vertical form.

Soil type: Prefers rich, deep, well-drained soils that are slightly acidic to neutral. It tolerates some soil variety but does not thrive in compacted, poorly drained, or overly dry conditions.
