Acer rubrum ‘Morgan’
The ‘Morgan’ Red Maple is a cultivar of red maple valued for its attractive shape and spectacular autumn coloration. It develops an oval to pyramidal habit, becoming wider with age. Its leaves, typical of red maples, are three-lobed or five-lobed. Although it is a red maple cultivar, ‘Morgan’ is particularly selected for its hardiness and good adaptation to urban conditions. In autumn, its foliage takes on vibrant hues ranging from orange-red to brilliant scarlet, offering a striking visual spectacle.
Soil type: Prefers rich, moist, well-drained soils but is adaptable to a wide range of soil types, including clay and sandy soils. It tolerates slightly acidic to neutral soils. Its good tolerance of wet conditions is an added advantage.
